RoHS AND WEEE
Directive 2011/65/EU, commonly referred to as RoHS 2, was passed July 21, 2011 and entered into force January 2, 2013. This legislation recast the original RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Directive 2002/95/EC and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive 2002/96/EC.
This European Directive restricts the use of certain substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment above prescribed thresholds. Each of the following substances is restricted to less than 1000 ppm with the exception of Cadmium:
- Lead (Pb)
- Mercury (Hg)
- Cadmium (Cd)*
- Hexavalent chromium Cr(VI)
- Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
- Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)
- Butyl Benzyl Phthalate (BBP)
- Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP)
- Di-(2-ethylhexyl) Phthalate (DEHP)
- Di-isodecyl Phthalate (DIDP)
*Cadmium is restricted to 100 ppm
Isola tests each of our prepreg and laminate products annually at an accredited third party lab for each of the ten RoHS substances and confirms that each of our products are fully compliant.
