Research and Development

Isola’s business strategy depends on the continual improvement of our laminate technologies and the successful introduction of new products. Approximately 90 employees are engaged in research and development or technical support of our customers.

Our principal research and development facility is co-located within our manufacturing facility in Chandler, Arizona. Additional R&D facilities are co-located within our manufacturing facilities in Germany and Singapore to provide regional support. Technical support teams work closely with our customers and leading OEMs to understand their future product requirements, and these efforts inform our R&D activities.

Isola’s R&D activities are focused on meeting the ever-more demanding laminate specifications required for increasingly sophisticated infrastructure devices such as routers, servers, and telecommunications equipment these more capable devices are needed to support increased activity on the internet, which is being driven by the explosion of social networking sites and the increased use of mobile devices and cloud computing applications. In addition, burgeoning applications for advanced automotive products for adaptive cruise control, telemetric and other “smart” car functions also require laminate materials with improved thermal and electrical properties.

Isola is steadfast in maintaining an aggressive R&D strategy, working with PCB fabricators and premier OEMs to develop not only the products that they need today, but also the products they will need tomorrow.
