RoHS AND WEEE
Directive 2011/65/EU, commonly known as RoHS 2, recast the original RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Directive 2002/95/EC and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive 2002/96/EC.
Enacted in 2013, this European Directive restricts the use of certain substances in electrical and electronic equipment above prescribed thresholds. Each of the following substances is restricted to less than 1000 ppm:
- Lead (Pb)
- Mercury (Hg)
- Hexavalent chromium [Cr(VI)]
- Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
- Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)
- Benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP)
- Dibutyl phthalate (DBP)
- Di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP)
- Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP)
Cadmium is restricted to 100 ppm.
Isola tests each of our prepreg and laminate products for the RoHS substances annually at an accredited third-party lab to confirm that our products are fully compliant.
