Speaker -- morning session: Todd Henninger- Field Applications Engineer with Viasystems
PCB 101: Rigid printed circuit board manufacturing fundamentals, from materials and tooling basics to individual processes, equipment, and quality control.
Surface Finishes: Descriptions of the most widely available PCB surface finishes, including the pros and cons of each.
CAF: Description, causes, and methods of avoiding Conductive Anodic Filament (CAF) as a preventable field failure mode in printed circuit boards.
Speaker -- afternoon session: Steven Sekanina- Product Marketing Manager for Isola Group
Printed Circuit Board materials 101: An overview of just what makes up today’s printed circuit board base materials. We will cover items from copper, glass, and resins to how all of the raw materials come together to make the laminate specified on pwb drawings.
Next generation PCB materials for high speed applications: An overview of the factors which drive faster data rates and the need for pcb materials to facilitate these faster speeds. We will also discuss how today’s pcb materials must be extremely thermally robust to support lead free assembly and rework operations.
